- Payment information: payment is processed by third-party payment gateways. We do not store your full card or banking credentials on our servers. We may retain a transaction reference, payment status, and the last few digits of an instrument for support purposes.

- Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and crash/diagnostic logs.
- Location data: precise or approximate location (with your permission) to show nearby restaurants and enable delivery and tracking. See Section 5.
- Usage data: how you interact with the Platform — pages viewed, features used, and time spent.
2. App permissions
Our mobile app may request the following permissions. You can manage these in your device settings at any time; declining some permissions may limit certain features.
- Location: to detect your delivery area, show nearby restaurants, calculate delivery distance, and enable live order tracking.
- Notifications: to send order updates, delivery alerts, and offers.
- Camera / Photos & Media (optional): to upload a profile picture or share a photo with support.
- Phone (optional): to let you call your delivery partner or restaurant directly from the app.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and verify you via OTP.
- Process and deliver your orders, and connect you with restaurants and delivery partners.
- Show relevant restaurants, menus, and offers based on your location.
- Provide live order tracking and delivery updates.
- Process payments, refunds, and maintain your wallet balance.
- Respond to your queries and provide customer support.
- Send service messages and, where permitted, promotional communications.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Improve our Platform, analyse usage, and develop new features.
- Comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.
4. How we share information
We share your information only as needed to operate the Platform:
- Restaurants: order details and necessary contact information so they can prepare and fulfil your order.
- Delivery partners: your delivery address, contact number, and order details to complete delivery. Contact details are shared only when required to fulfil the order.
- Payment gateways: payment-related data to process transactions and refunds securely.
- Service providers: trusted vendors who help us with hosting, maps and navigation, SMS/email/OTP delivery, analytics, and notifications, bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal & safety: when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or Dishtro.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Location data
Location is central to a delivery service. With your permission, we use your device's location to:
- Auto-detect your delivery area and show restaurants that deliver to you.
- Calculate accurate delivery distances and times.
- Enable real-time tracking of your order on a map.
You can turn off location access in your device settings. If you do, you can still enter an address manually, but some features (like live tracking and automatic area detection) may not work as intended.
6. Cookies & tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
7. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it. You may request deletion of your account as described below.

- Access & update: view and edit your profile and addresses in the app.
- Account deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe from promotional messages at any time; you will still receive essential service messages.
- Permissions: manage device permissions (location, notifications, camera) in your settings.

10. Children's privacy
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date. Significant changes may be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
